    What is Avalide?

Avalide is a drug that is used to treat and manage hypertension (high blood pressure). High blood pressure can cause serious conditions such as stroke, kidney problems and heart attack. It uses a combination of Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide to lower blood pressure. These drugs work better when used together than when used separately.

    Avalide (Irbesartan/HCTZ) Information

What is the dosage of Avalid?

The usual dose is one tablet a day by mouth. The strength and instructions will vary based on your specific needs. It’s advised to take this at least 4 hours before bed time as the diuretic properties will cause you to urinate more frequently.

    How Avalid works?

It uses two drugs in combination to lower blood pressure and prevent potentially fatal health concerns. Irbesartan is an ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker) that allows blood to flow more easily by relaxing the blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes excess water and salt via urine. These treatments compliment each other and provide better results than other treatments.

What are the side effects of Avalid?

This is not a complete list of potential side effects of Avalide. Report side effects to your doctor or pharmacist. If you find them unmanageable, call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. We also have a pharmacist that can provide counselling when you buy Avalide online.

If you also take cholesterol medications, wait 4-6 hours between taking this and your other medicine. Notify your doctor if you need drug information or if you experience an adverse reaction during treatment.

If this is used long-term the Hydrochlorothiazide may make you susceptible for non-melanoma skin cancer. You may need to wear protective clothing when exposed to direct sunlight. Your doctor will advise you how to avoid health risks if this is intended as a long-term treatment.

Inform your doctor if you become pregnant or plan to become pregnant. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby.

Irbesartan may increase your risk of renal disease (kidney disease). Your doctor may need to monitor your kidney health during treatment. If you miss a dose, you can skip the missed dose. Taking an extra dose may increase your health risks.

Your doctor will give you medical advice to notice the signs of an allergic reaction and electrolytes imbalance. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe side effects.

Store at room temperature away from children and animals when not in use.
