What is Omnaris Nasal Spray used for?
Omnaris Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid medication used to treat symptoms caused by seasonal and year-long allergies including sneezing, itching and runny nose. It’s function is to reduce inflammation of the nasal passages and blocks the substances that cause allergy symptoms. This can be used in children as young as 6 for seasonal allergies. For perennial allergic rhinitis, the youngest recommended age is 12. Do not share this medication with others even if they have similar allergy symptoms. Omnaris Nasal Spray may not relieve their symptoms and can result in unpleasant side effects. This may weaken your immune system. Avoid circumstances where you may be exposed to illnesses including chickenpox or measles.

How to Use Omnaris?
When prescribing this medication your doctor should describe how to use Omnaris Nasal Spray and may even provide a demonstration. The manufacturer also provides a patient information leaflet with the packaging.
Prior to use, blow your nose gently to remove any obstructions. When you first use the spray, or if you haven’t used it for a few days, you need to prime the spray. Shake the bottle and dispense a spray away from your eyes. It should produce a fine mist. If not try again until you see the desired result.
Use the spray as directed and avoid contact with eyes and do not spray into the nasal septum.
Once you have applied your sprays in each nostril once daily, wipe the tip of the spray with a clean cloth or tissue. If the tip becomes obstructed, consult the patient information leaflet on how to unclog it. Do not use a sharp object to remove any blockage. This has to be used consistently to get the best results.
If you happen to miss a dose, take it when you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Taking too much medication at once will not improve your condition and may result in more severe or frequent side effects.
Omnaris Nasal Spray will not work right away. It can take up to 2 weeks to receive the maximum benefit for seasonal allergies and up to 4 weeks for year long allergies. It is recommended to start taking this before allergy season. Store at room temperature out of reach of children.
