Take Kombiglyze exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions from your prescription label and read the medication guides or instruction sheets. Use Kombiglyze exactly as directed.
Take Kombiglyze XR with food, swallow the tablet whole and do not chew, break or crush it.
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) can happen to anyone with diabetes. The symptoms include: sweating, irritability, dizziness, and hunger. To treat blood sugar quickly, keep a source of fast-acting sugar with you such as non-diet soda, hard candy, or fruit juice.
Your doctor may prescribe a glucagon emergency injection kit for your use in case you have severe hypoglycemia and cannot eat or drink. Ensure that your friends and family know how to give you this injection in case of emergency.
You should also watch out for signs of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) like increased urination or thirst, headache, blurred vision, and tiredness.
Blood sugar levels may be affected by illness, stress, exercise, surgery, skipping meals, or alcohol use. Talk with your doctor before you change your medication schedule or dosage.
Kombiglyze is only one part of a full treatment program that may also include weight control, special medical care, diet, regular blood sugar testing, and exercise. Closely follow your doctor’s instructions.
