What is Podofilox (Condylox) used for?

Podofilox is used to treat warts that occur in the genital area (anogenital). It works by causing necrosis (death) of the wart tissue. No more than 0.5 milliliter of solution from the applicator tip should be applied to the wart. Treatment is limited to the affected area only. Wash your hands before and after handling the product. It is used for three days in a row, with 4 days off. This 7 day cycle should continue for a maximum of 4 treatment cycles or until the wart tissue is removed. Some side effects of using Podofilox include nausea vomiting, mild skin irritation such as swelling, burning, pain or redness; unpleasant skin odor and headache. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if you find them unmanageable. If you happen to miss a dose you can take it when you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your schedule. Supply a list of your current prescriptions to your doctor to check for drug interactions, allergic reactions and adverse effects.
