    How to Use Pentasa Enema?

    Immediately before use take the Pentasa Enema bottle out of the foil pack and shake well. Twist the nozzle one full turn clockwise to break the seal. Put your hand in one of the disposable plastic bags provided in the package. Grasp the container and lie on your left side, extend your left leg so it is straight and bend your right leg forward for balance. Carefully insert the applicator tip into your rectum, and maintain sufficient steady hand pressure while emptying the contents of the bottle.

    The entire contents of the bottle should be applied in maximum 30-40 seconds. Once the bottle is empty keep it compressed and withdraw the tip. Hold the enema in the bowel by remaining in the administration position for 5-10 minutes or until the urge to pass the enema has passed. Dispose of the enema by rolling the plastic bag from your hand over the bottle, wash your hands.
