What is Nasonex?
Nasonex is a nasal spray used to treat and prevent allergy symptoms. Nasonex contains the active ingredient Mometasone.

Nasonex is available as a generic called Mometasone Nasal Spray.
How to use Nasonex?
Nasonex is an aerosol spray which is sprayed into each nostril once to twice daily. Blow your nose before using Nasonex as this helps to clear the nasal passage.
When spraying Nasonex into one nostril, close the other nostril by pressing it with your finger. Tilt your head slightly forward and keep the bottle upright. Press down firmly on the pump to deliver the spray. Spray directly into the nostril and do not spray onto the nasal septum (middle wall of your nose).
Avoid blowing your nose for approximately 15 minutes after using Nasonex.
Possible side effects of Nasonex?
Some common side effects of Nasonex are:
- Stuffy nose
- Headache
- Nosebleeds
- Sore throat
- Flu-like symptoms
- Cough
Other possible side effects of Nasonex are:
- Wheezing
- White patches or sores in the nose
- Nose pain or discomfort
- Trouble breathing
- Trouble hearing
