    MetroGel FAQs

Where can I buy MetroGel over the counter?

This is a “prescription required” medication. Unfortunately it is not available without a valid prescription from your doctor. If a company is offering this medication without the proper documents, it is unlikely they are sending a safe and effective product, if they provide a product at all.

    Why is MetroGel so expensive?

MetroGel is a brand name medication. These products are generally more expensive than their generic equivalents. If you find that it costs too much to get the brand product, generic equivalents are equally safe and effective.

Can you take MetroGel and Flagyl at the same time?

These are different forms of the same active ingredient, Metronidazole. They should not be taken together unless prescribed by your doctor. Using both may increase your risk of side effects.

Is MetroGel the same as Metronidazole?

They are the same medicine. The brand product will have the name of the generic equivalent on the packaging.
