    What is Diflucan?

Diflucan is an azole antifungal medication used to treat fungal infection. It treats the medical condition by preventing the growth of the likely type of fungus causing the infection (Commonly called yeast infection). It may be used to treat other conditions such as urinary tract infections, cryptococcal meningitis and vaginal candidiasis.

    Diflucan Information

    Diflucan dosage

The typical dose is one tablet taken orally a day. Meals do not affect how this medication works. Always follow your doctor’s instructions for the best results.

Make sure you take this consistently every day to see the best results of treatment. You should take a single dose around the same time every day to keep a constant level in your system. Try to schedule a time where it is easy to remember or set an alarm if that helps.

Use the full prescription unless your doctor tells you to stop. Ending treatment prematurely can cause the infection to return. Do not take this more often than prescribed. It will not hasten treatment and can increase your risk of side effects.

    How Diflucan works

The active ingredient, fluconazole, creates holes in the cell membranes of the fungus. This causes the fungus to die after it’s contents leak out. After killing the fungus your body will eventually heal.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if your condition does not improve or if your symptoms grow worse.
