What is Daflon used for?
Daflon’s active ingredient is diosmin, a kind of plant chemical found in citrus fruits. Daflon is used to treat various blood vessel disorders, including varicose veins, blood clots, hemorrhoids, bleeding in the eyes or gums, and poor circulation in the legs. It can also be used to treat the swelling of the arms after brest cancer surgery, for radicular pain, and to protect against liver toxicity. It is usually taken in combination with another plant chemical called hesperidin.

How to Use Daflon?
Always take Daflon exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Check with your pharmacist, nurse, doctor, or other health care professional if you are unsure how to take it. If you use Daflon for venous insufficiency, usually you’ll be prescribed 2 tablets per day. One at midday and another in the evening, both at meal times. For haemorrhoidal attacks, usually your dose will be 6 tablets per day for 4 days and then 4 tablets per day for the next 3 days, usually at meal times.

Daflon may interact with other medications in such a way that changes how your medication works or increase your risk of experiencing negative side effects. Your doctor will want to avoid some drug interactions completely, but can lessen the effects of others by changing the doses of your medications.

What are Side Effects of Daflon?
Along with the regular effects of Daflon, it can cause unwanted side effects. You will likely experience little to no side effects. Though there are some side effects that are very serious and require immediate medical attention, there are others that are more mild and do not require urgent medical care.
There have been cases of commonplace gastrointestinal disorders and neurovegetative disorders reported, but these side effects do not require treatment with Daflon to stop.
