    What is Azelastine Nasal Spray used for?

    Astelin is a nasal spray containing the active ingredient azelastine which is an antihistamine. It works by blocking histamine H1-receptors in isolated tissues. It is used nasally to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies such as sneezing, runny and stuffy nose and year round allergic rhinitis.
    It can be used in adults and children 5 years and older to manage allergy symptoms. The usual dose for individuals 12 years of age or older, is 2 sprays per nostril twice a day. Carefully read and understand the patient information prided with the product.
