Aricept (Donepezil) is prescribed to treat dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease. It can improve memory, awareness, and the ability to function. Aricept is classified as an enzyme blocker that functions by restoring the balance of neurotransmitters within the brain.

How to use Aricept (Donepezil)?
Read the Patient Information Leaflet before you start taking donepezil and whenever you order a refill. Take Donezepil Aricept as directed by your doctor.
If taking the 23mg tablets, swallow them whole. Do not split, crush, or chew these tablets. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. Do not change your dose.
If you have not taken donepezil for more than a week, speak with your doctor before resuming the medication. You may need to start tapered in order to decrease the risk of side effects. This medication must be taken regularly to get the most benefit from it. Take it at the same time each day. Do not stop taking it unless your physician tells you to do so. It may take a few weeks before the full benefit is provided. Tell your health care professional if your condition worsens.
