Agrylin (Anagrelide HCl) Information
Agrylin Dosage
Agrylin is taken by mouth as often as recommended by your doctor. It works the same when taken with meals or on an empty stomach. Your dose is based on your medical condition and history of treatment. You may have a lower starting dose and it may be adjusted to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
This works best when taken consistently every day. You should keep taking it unless instructed otherwise. Do not take extra doses as it may increase your risk of bleeding.
Stopping treatment can cause your platelet counts to go back up. Your doctor will monitor your blood to make sure it is working. You will not feel different if it is working.
Store at room temperature away from children and animals when not in use.
How Agrylin Works
Agrylin works by lowering how many platelets your body produces by blocking their production. This decreases the number of platelets in the bloodstream which prevents blood clots.
