What is Detrol/Detrol LA (Tolterodine) used for?

Detrol/Detrol LA (Tolterodine) is prescribed to manage overactive bladder and prevent interrupted sleep from night time urination. It works by relaxing the muscles of the bladder which helps individuals control their need to urinate. This makes the need less urgent and prevents urinary incontinence. The frequent need to urinate can be caused by spasms in the bladder. Tolterodine reduces the frequency of those spasms. Do not share Tolterodine with others with similar symptoms. This may not be an effective treatment and may result in adverse reactions.
