About YCDSCC
Yes. Your Canada Drug Store (YCDSCC) is a CIPA-certified Canadian prescription referral service that has been operating since 2018, licensed through the Manitoba International Pharmacists Association (MIPA), and verified by Norton Shopping Guarantee. We require a valid prescription for every prescription medication, work only with licensed dispensing pharmacies in regulated jurisdictions, and never ship controlled substances. You can independently verify our CIPA membership at cipa.com/verify-a-website or review our full credentials on our Safety & Verification page.
NABP (the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) does not accredit any Canadian pharmacy that ships to US customers - this is a structural US regulatory policy, not a finding about any individual pharmacy. As a result, every CIPA-certified Canadian pharmacy that serves American customers appears on NABP's "Not Recommended" list, regardless of its actual licensing, safety record, or compliance history. YCDSCC is fully licensed and regulated in Canada through MIPA and certified by CIPA. We explain this in detail on our Safety & Verification page.
We encourage independent verification before you place any order. You can confirm our CIPA membership at cipa.com/verify-a-website, read independent customer reviews on Trustpilot and Shopper Approved, and check our public domain registration history (we've operated since June 2018). For a complete breakdown of our certifications, licensing, regulatory framework, and security practices, see our Safety & Verification page.
YCDSCC is a prescription referral service, not a dispensing pharmacy. When you place an order, your prescription is forwarded to one of our contracted, government-licensed dispensing pharmacies in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, or India. Every partner pharmacy operates under the direct regulatory oversight of its country's national health authority, and you will always be informed which country your medication ships from before ordering. Learn more about how our referral model works on our Safety & Verification page.
Ordering & Payments
There are a number of easy ways to order medications from our contracted licensed pharmacies. The quickest way to order is to:
- Create your account and place your medication order online
- Speak to one of our friendly Customer Service Representatives at 1-844-416-4282
- Download our order form, fill it out, and send it via mail or fax to the address on the form
We offer several convenient payment methods to meet your needs:
- American Express: Use your American Express card for quick and secure payment.
- EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer): Direct withdrawal from your checking account.
- Personal Check or Money Order: These should be made out to Your Canada Drug Store.
Electronic Funds Transfer, or EFT, allows us to send payments electronically rather than printing and mailing a paper check. EFT payments are advantageous because your payment is processed faster than with a paper check, and there is no risk of a check getting lost in the mail.
Currently, YCDSCC accepts American Express, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), personal checks, and money orders. We do not currently accept Visa or Mastercard. EFT is our most popular payment method - it allows us to withdraw payment directly from your checking account securely and ensures faster processing than mailing a check. American Express can be used for quick and secure card payments. If you prefer not to use EFT, personal checks or money orders should be made out to "Your Canada Drug Store." We understand that limited payment options can be inconvenient, and we are always working to expand our accepted payment methods.
Refill orders cannot be cancelled as they are processed almost immediately and sometimes shipped within hours of receiving the order. Moreover, legally once the product has left the pharmacy it cannot be reused. You may cancel the first fill of a prescription by contacting us immediately and within 24 hours of your prescription being received.
Prescriptions that have been dispensed and shipped to customers are not returnable to inventory under Canadian law, and the pharmacy is required to destroy any previously dispensed medication. For this reason, all sales are final. However, returns will be accepted if any mistake has been made during dispensing, or if any damage or issues occurred during shipment. To authorize a return, please call 1-844-416-4282 for instructions.
Because the insurance system is different in every country, we unfortunately cannot deal directly with your insurance company. If you have private insurance, you should contact your insurance company prior to ordering to see if they will reimburse you for prescriptions filled by our contracted and licensed pharmacies. A receipt will be issued for all of your prescriptions, and those receipts may be submitted to your insurance company for payment.
Please be aware that we can only accept 1 coupon per order. If the coupon is for a specific product, it will not be accepted for different products. Orders may be delayed if we need to clarify any of these issues with you. Please ensure that coupons are used appropriately as we reserve the right to hold orders that do not comply with our coupon policy.
Pricing, Shipping & Delivery
Prescription orders are normally processed within 3 days of receiving your prescription, placing an order, and receiving payment. Once shipped, your medication will take approximately 3 to 6 weeks to arrive at your residence. Most packages are delivered via USPS. There may be rare occasions where some shipments may take more than 8 weeks to arrive due to possible disruptions with international postal services or customs. We advise our patients to place an order at least 30 - 45 days prior to when the medication will be needed.
If your order does not arrive within 4 to 8 weeks of shipping and you have provided a correct delivery address, we will ensure your order gets reshipped. If you prefer not to have it reshipped, we will apply a credit for the full amount of your purchase.
Americans can typically save 40 to 80% on prescription medications by ordering from a licensed Canadian or International pharmacy compared to U.S. retail prices. For example, a 90-day supply of brand-name Eliquis (apixaban) can cost over $500 at a U.S. pharmacy, while the same medication from a CIPA-certified Canadian pharmacy may cost under $200. These savings exist because Canada's Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) regulates drug pricing, keeping costs significantly lower than in the United States, where drug manufacturers can set their own prices. A 2021 RAND Corporation study found that prescription drug prices in the U.S. were roughly 2.56 times higher than in other comparable countries. YCDSCC also offers a price match guarantee - if a competing CIPA-approved pharmacy has a lower price on the same product from the same country of origin, we will match it.
Yes! Our contracted and licensed pharmacies will match the price of any prescription products dispensed by a recognized CIPA-approved company. In order to qualify, the offering must be an identical product (same Drug Name, same Manufacturer, same Country of Origin, same Strength) that is in-stock and available for immediate delivery. The product must also be shipped from the same country of origin. The price match will be based on an identical quantity being purchased and after factoring in all other costs such as dispensing fees and shipping fees. Please call us at 1-844-416-4282 if you wish to price match any item.
Prescriptions & Medications
Yes! We require prescriptions for any product that requires a prescription in Canada or in your Country of Residence. We require a valid prescription for your medications regardless of where your order is being fulfilled. For your valid prescription to be accepted, it must be from a physician licensed to practice in your Country of Residence.
Transferring your prescription to a Canadian pharmacy through YCDSCC is straightforward. You will need a valid prescription from a physician licensed in your country of residence. You can submit it by uploading a clear photo through our website, having your doctor fax it to 1-833-495-5107, or mailing it to our address. A licensed pharmacist will review your prescription and medical history before dispensing. Unlike transferring between two U.S. pharmacies, your U.S. prescription does not directly "transfer" - instead, it goes through a cosigning process where a Canadian healthcare provider reviews and reissues it as a Canadian prescription. This ensures compliance with Canadian dispensing regulations. Most patients experience no difference in the process. Your prescription is kept on file for future refills, up to the maximum 3-month supply per order.
Yes, you may purchase only a maximum of a 3-month supply of each of your medications. If your physician writes a prescription for more than a 3-month supply, we can assist you in having those refills filled as they come due.
Generic medications contain the same active ingredients and concentrations as the name-brand products, but will often differ in shape, color, size, markings, and non-active fillers. Health Canada mandates that a generic drug must have the same amount of the same active ingredient and must work in the same way as the original brand name drug. Our contracted and licensed pharmacies provide only the highest quality of generic medications approved by their governmental authority. Two-thirds of all prescriptions in Canada are filled with generic drugs. In the case of generics, lower price does not mean lower quality - Health Canada requires that both brand name and generic companies follow the same rules for the manufacturing process and quality of their ingredients.
Yes. Brand-name medications dispensed by licensed Canadian pharmacies contain the same active ingredients, in the same dosages, manufactured by the same pharmaceutical companies as those sold in the United States. Health Canada, the country's federal health regulatory body, enforces standards that are comparable to the U.S. FDA for drug safety, efficacy, and manufacturing quality. A medication like Lipitor (atorvastatin) sold in Canada is manufactured by Pfizer using the same formula as the U.S. version. The packaging and labeling may look different because they follow Canadian regulatory requirements, but the medication itself is identical. YCDSCC also contracts with licensed pharmacies in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, all of which have drug regulatory systems comparable to the FDA and Health Canada.
YCDSCC's contracted pharmacies carry a wide range of prescription medications, non-prescription (OTC) products, and pet medications. This includes commonly prescribed drugs for conditions such as diabetes (Jardiance, Januvia), cardiovascular health (Eliquis, Lipitor), respiratory conditions (Advair, Flovent), and many others. However, there are categories of medications that cannot be shipped internationally. Our contracted pharmacies do not dispense narcotics, controlled substances, habit-forming medications, or drugs with potential for abuse. Examples include Tylenol #3, Valium, Ativan, barbiturates, and testosterone. Biological products (including insulin), intravenously injected drugs, and medications subject to Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) are also generally excluded from personal importation. You can browse our full catalog on our website, or call us at 1-844-416-4282 to check availability for a specific medication.
Pharmaceutical companies often enter into regional licensing agreements to ensure their drugs can be distributed efficiently across different markets. While the medication itself remains the same, the company responsible for producing and distributing it can vary depending on the country. This strategy helps streamline the supply chain and improve the availability of essential drugs on a global scale.
The medications being shipped to you originate from different countries, so the packaging as well as the medication itself may look different. However, brand products, regardless of the Country of Origin, will be manufactured using the same formula. Generic medications contain the same active ingredients and concentrations as the name-brand products, but will often differ in shape, color, size, markings, and non-active fillers.
Currently the pharmacy regulations require our contracted and licensed pharmacies to dispense medications in a child-resistant container. In order for them to dispense medications without child-resistant containers, a written request from you is necessary. Download the request form from our website, print it, fill it out, sign it, and send the completed form back to us via text message, email, fax, or regular mail.
Yes. YCDSCC offers a range of prescription and non-prescription pet medications through our contracted licensed pharmacies. Just like human medications, pet prescriptions require a valid prescription from a licensed veterinarian. The ordering process is the same - submit your pet's prescription through our website, by fax, or by mail, and a licensed pharmacist will review and dispense the order. Many pet owners save significantly on common veterinary medications by ordering through a Canadian pharmacy referral service. Visit our Pet Meds page at for available products, or call us at 1-844-416-4282 to check availability.
